RHEOLOGICAL CHARACTERIZATION OF INDUSTRIAL WASTE MODIFIED BITUMEN

نویسندگان

چکیده

The aim of this research is to evaluate the rheological properties industrial waste modified bitumen. varying proportion polypropylene ranging from 0% 20% weight bitumen at 5% interval with 60/70 penetration grade was used. asphalt binder modification prepared by using high-speed mixer temperature 150 °C 190 °C. conventional test like softening point, penetration, ductility, flash and fire point were carried out assess physical characteristics unmodified bitumen, thereafter dynamic shear rheometer rotational viscosity conducted determine result indicated that has ability improve increased decrease point. Polypropylene provides better resistance against permanent deformation due their increase in complex modulus phase angle. It can be concluded could level performance service life road.

Rheological properties of modified Bitumen: Comparison of waste polymers’ performance

In this investigation, rheological properties of three different polymer-modified bitumen compounds containing recycled polyethylene terephthalate (R-PET), crumb rubber (CR) and poly (styrene-butadiene-styrene) (SBS) are evaluated and compared. The modified samples were tested by a dynamic shear rheometer (DSR) where complex modulus (G*), phase angle (δ) and rutting resistance (G*/Sinδ) of spec...

Characterization of Bitumen Mixed with Plastic Waste

Plastic (Polyethylene Terephthalate, PET) is now used as packaging material for a whole range of consumer products in addition to carbonated beverages. Although plastics are very useful product, but the disposal of these wastes has become a problem and is of great concern, particularly in our country. One of the solutions to the disposal of plastic wastes is recycling it...

Comparative Study of Eva and Waste Polymer Modified Bitumen

Polymer-modified bitumen is used to combat different pavement distresses and to increase the life span of pavement. Unmodified bitumen cannot perform better with the range extreme minimum and maximum pavement temperatures. The polymers commonly used to modify the bitumen are ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) styrene butadiene styrene (SBS). The aim this study to compare the performance of EVA modifi...

The Thermo-Rheological Behavior of Bitumen

As a very important coating material in different applications, bitumen is a complex mixture of different chemicals. It is generally accepted that the principle of time-temperature superposition (TTS) holds for this material. In this study rheological measurements were carried out on four different bitumens. Different representations of the experimental data were examined to check failure or ho...
